Last summer I was working on this beautiful quilt ( forgive me my pride - I just love this one - It was extremely difficult to let this one go ) for a very very very close friend who was way over due for this gift BUT I could not show the back of the quilt on this blog. ¿Do you all remember that I like to make two sided quilts? Well, a few years ago I was working on a different quilt for my afore mentioned friend but the top went to some else and my pal's quilt was delayed AGAIN. But before that happened I had showen my much deserving friend the backing that I had started for her quilt. It is the same backing that I put on "Organized Insanity" and I could not show the back when I finished the quilt because my friend would know that this was her quilt and I wanted it to be a big surprise......

El verano pasado costuré este quilt tan hermoso ( perdoname por mi orgullo – me encanta este quilt – fue sumamente difícil a reglar este quilt ) por una amiga muy cerca de mi. Yo fui muy tarde en presentando este reglo PERO no pudé mostrar la espalda de este quilt en este blog. ¿Recuerdan que me gusto hacer quilts con dos vistas? Pues, hace unos años yo estuve trabando en un quilt diferente por mi amigo pero la tapa fue con otra persona y yo estuve tarde en dandole un quilt OTRA VEZ. Pero antes que pasó esto yo he mostrado a mi amiga la espalda que he costurado por su quilt. Esta espalda es la misma espalda que usé en “Locura Ordenado” y no pude mostrar la espalda cuando terminé el quilt porque mi amiga sabría que este quilt fue para ella y quise que este regla sería una gran sorpresa…..

The back is made out of all cat-related fabric. Yes, my friend is a huge cat lover.... all the nicest people are!!!

La espalda del quilt fue completement hecho con tela con el tema de gatos. Sí, mi amiga le encanta gatos....gente muy amable son así!!!

Naptime Quilter I've taken the Challenge!!/Acepto la Meta de Naptime Quilter

Ok, I'm baring my soul here... I've been following a blog called "Naptime Quilter" and she has challenged other quilters to not only show quilts that have been completed but to show the quilt making process from the first bud of an idea for a quilt. SOoooo, with great trepidation I will put it all out there for the world (or at least my blog followers) to see.

First, Wendy, Janet and I are starting a project. Each one of us are going to make a small art quilt measuring 8" x 10". Each small art quilt that we create will have a theme. I am the first to pick a theme. The theme is "Sun and Sand".

The first two photos show my line drawings...this is the most painful thing to show you!!! I'm not a drawer!!! YIKES!! But I'm just trying to layout the idea and figure where everything will go.... What I have in my mind to create is a view from above the sun looking down to the earth, of course, where there is sand there is sea and those are just about my favorite things on earth, well, aside from quilting!! I fear that this piece is too representational but it's my very first attempt at art quilting....and I'm not an artist...just trying to develop a little bit of artistic skill, I hope


Pues, lumbro el alma aquí.... sigo un blog que se llama "Naptime Quilter" y ella ha puesto una meta a otros quilters para no solo mostrar fotos de quilts que han sido cumplidos pero para mostrar el processo completo desde la primera chispa de imaginacion del quilt que quiere crear. Así que, con mucho miedo voy a exponerme al mundo (o a los que siguen este blog).

Primero, Wendy, Janet y yo empezamos un proyecto. Cada uno de nosotras creamos un pequeño quilt de arte con medidas de 8" x 10". Cada pequeño quilt de arte que creamos tiene un tema. Soy la primera de escojer el tema. El tema es "Sol y Arena".

Las primeras dos fotos son unos dibujos....me duele mucho a mostrar estos dibujos....no puedo dibujar!!! HAY MIO!!! Solo estoy tratando de arreglar a donde se queda los elementos del diseño.... Lo que tengo en el mente es que quiere crear una vista de arriba del sol mirando abajo hacia la tierra y donde hay arena hay mar. Arena y mar son unos de mis cosas favoritas en este planeta, bueno, además de quilting!! Temo que este proyecto es demásido realística pero este proyecto es mi primer atento al crear un quilt de arte…..no soy artista….solo estoy tratando de desarrollar un poquito de talento artística, espero.

Trip Around the World - The Real Deal

Didn't you know that all that fooling around with the Many Scrappy Trip Quilts would lead me to the REAL "Trip Around The World" quilt design? Well, it has been weighing on my mind and I've always admired these quilts. So my first day back in SEWINGVILLE I spent making a mini Trip Around the World, it measures 15 1/2 inches square....where I go from here is a mystery.

¿No adivinan que todos los experimentos con los "Many Scrappy Trip" quilts me llevaría hasta el verdadero "Trip Around the World" diseño de quilt? Pués, ha sido en el fundo de mi mente. Siempre me gustó estos tipos de quilts. Así que el primer día al regresar a SEWINGVILLE lo gasté costurando un mini Trip Around the World, las medidas son 15 1/2 pulgadas cuadrado.....A donde voy de aquí es un misterio.
