I've Received Some of My Block Lotto Blocks for Both Months - March and April.....

These are the March - Star Chain Blocks (the little yellow squares are post-it notes with the names of the person that sent the block.  The top left block is the block that I opted to keep that I made.  There are 9 more to come to make a total of 17 of these blocks.

I have NOT photoed the April - Triangle Square Blocks yet.....I've received 2 envelopes of those, 3 in the first envelope and 4 in the second.  I should received 52 blocks all together of the Triangle Square Blocks.

  1. Hi Mariella

I see my block in there.

I have just received your parcel in the post. Thank you very much for the beautiful blocks and also the lovely fat quarter you included. I love getting these parcels from around the world - I think this is the sixth time I have won over the last four years. I have completed 3 quilts from my winnings and have used some of the wonky stars from a couple of years ago in another quilt made from a different swap group. I have started using the blue and white sailing ships in a quilt for one of my grandsons and hope to make a matching quilt for his little brother. Unfortunately I have so many projects on the go that I am not sure when I will get these finished.

I am loving this months blocks but have not had a chance to give too much thought to how I am going to use them yet.

I love getting the personal messages in with the blocks and have decided that I must make a bigger effort to include messages with mine when they are sent.

My passion is scrap quilting and I have a room full of scraps as fellow quilters are always giving me their offcuts. I hate seeing fabric going to waste but know I will never use all the rescued scraps in my sewing room. My mother is a quilter and sewer too and we belong to the same quilting group.

Wishing you all the best and may your lucky streak continue.
