More Progress with the Triangles.......

I'm just trying to keep up with my classes.  So here's how it's going!

 

The lighting is a little bit off but you get the general idea!

Progress On my Triangle Quilt

Yesterday I got all the triangle Blocks constructed and this is how the quilt is shaping up.

Ayer terminé la construccion de todos los bloques de triángulos y esto es lo que tengo hasta ahora.

Six April Block Lotto Blocks - Still Need Three More and Progress on my Triangle Tangle Quilt

I'm made 6 of the required blocks.  I have pulled out just yards upon yards of fabrics to find combinations that I find pleasing.........The woman that runs the Block Lotto, Sophie, has given 3 different methods for making the 7" blocks.  I've used Method #1 and Method #3 - for the last 3 I will employ Method #2 ....  if I ever get any free time from my busy schedule......

He hecho 6 de los bloques necesarios. He sacado un montón de yardas de telas para encontrar combinaciones que me resultan agradables ......... La mujer que dirige el Bloque Lotto, Sophie, ha dado 3 métodos diferentes para hacer los bloques de 7".   He utilizado el método # 1 y el Método # 3 - para el último 3 emplearé Método # 2 .... si puedo encontrar sufficiente tiempo libre para hacerlos.

 Oh just years ago I took a class from Quilt University that was (as all those classes were) very informative and useful.  I'm showing some of my quilting pals how to make the different blocks that compose this quilt.  I'm having so much fun making the project again and refreshing myself on the construction of all the blocks and here is a photo of the quilt I made from the first go 'round of the class.

Hace años tomé una clase en la Quilt University que era (como todas las clases estaban) muy informativo y útil. Estoy mostrando algunos de mis amigos que hacen quilts cómo hacer que los diferentes bloques que componen este quilt.  Estoy teniendo tanto diversión haciendo el proyecto de nuevo y refrescante a mí mismo en la construcción de todos los bloques y aquí está una foto del quilt  que hice de la primera ronda de ir a la clase.

You can see that my new quilt will be very scrappy.....I'm using lots of old fats quarters and other fabrics that have been on my shelves for ages!! 

Se puede ver que mi nuevo quilt será muy retazado ..... estoy utilizando una gran cantidad de 'fat quarters' antiguos y otros telas que han estado en mis estantes para las edades!

Mexico City Quilt Expo

Yes I went to the Quilt Expo in Mexico City and it was marvelous!  I have so many thanks to give for the wonderful time I had.  First I stayed with a new friend and was treated like so very kindly and had just a great time with these beautiful people, Barbara and John.  It was so very kind of them to take me in and let me stay at their house!  Barbara and I got to know each better and took a 2 day class on making portraits with cheesecloth, black fabric, pens and free motion quilting.  It really stretched my learning skills and was taught by Pam Holland.  Then I took another class, again with Pam Holland, on applique and drawing on fabric to add dimension to the figures.  Wendy and Pilar were in that class with me.  The Expo was fun and met so many fellow quilters.  I am so grateful to be able to have attended and very thankful to everyone for making the event extra special.

Unfortunately I was having camera trouble and didn't get as many photos as I would have like.  And I can't believe that I didn't get any good photos of the exhibit of our 8 X 11 Project Quilts!  I was just so busy in the classes that I suppose the thought of getting a photo of all the little quilts together just slipped by me!

Sí fui a la Quilt Expo en la ciudad de México y fue maravilloso! Tengo tantas gracias para dar por el tiempo maravilloso que tenía. Primero se quedó con una nueva amiga y fue tratado como tal , muy amablemente y tenía sólo un gran tiempo con estas hermosas personas, Barbara y John . Fue muy amable de su parte para que me llevara y deja que me quede en su casa ! Barbara y yo llegamos a conocernos mejor y tomaron una clase de 2 días en hacer retratos con una manta ciela, tela negro, plumas y acolchado de movimiento libre. Realmente se extendía mis habilidades de aprendizaje y fue impartido por Pam Holanda. Entonces tomé otra clase, de nuevo con Pam Holanda, en apliques y dibujo sobre la tela para darle dimensión a las figuras. Wendy y Pilar eran en esa clase conmigo. La Expo fue muy divertido y se encontró con tantos compañeros quilteras . Estoy muy agradecida de poder haber asistido y muy agradecidos a todos por hacer que el evento sea especial.

Por desgracia yo estaba teniendo problemas de cámara y no obtuvo tantas fotos como me hubiera gustado . Y no puedo creer que no he tenido ningún buenas fotos de la exposición de nuestros Proyecto 8 X 11 quilts! Estaba tan ocupado en las clases que supongo que la idea de conseguir una foto de todos los pequeños quilts juntos sólo deslizado por mí!

This is the face that we did in the 2 day class "Cheesecloth and Chalk" by Pam Holland's.  It was really an interesting process and I'll have to experiment with the technique to improve my skills.

Esta es la cara que lo hicimos en la "Manta Cielo y Chalk" clase de 2 días por Pam Holland. Fue realmente un proceso interesante y voy a tener que experimentar con la técnica para mejorar mis habilidades.

Here is my lady......It isn't finished and I can see by these two photos just where I need to change some things..........all the faces did have different expressions!

Aquí está mi señora ...... Se no ha terminado y puedo ver por estas dos fotos justo donde tengo que cambiar algunas cosas .......... todos los rostros tenían expresiones diferentes!

This is the only photo that I have of our Proyecto 8 x 11 exhibit!!  But oh is was so lovely to have time with Wendy and meet her daughter, Andrea and some of the other women involved in our little project, it was a pleasure to meet Lucy and Martel!  I hope there will be another chance in the future for us to get together and learn a little more of ourselves!

Esta es la única foto que tengo de nuestro Proyecto 8 x 11 exposiciones! Pero, oh, es decir era tan bonito tener tiempo con Wendy y conocer a su hija, Andrea y algunas de las otras mujeres que participan en nuestro pequeño proyecto, fue un placer conocer a Lucy y Martel! Espero que habrá otra oportunidad en el futuro para nosotros conseguir juntos y aprendemos un poco más de nosotros mismos!
